1.install it as usual
2.copy \crack\bin files to X:\Aldec\Riviera-PRO-2012.06\bin.
backup these files if you prefer
3.copy \crack\dat to X:\Aldec\Riviera-PRO-2012.06\Dat
or merger the license.dat with X:\Aldec\Active-HDL X.X\Dat\license.dat(if you have HDL installed in the first place)

note:
licensediagnose.exe is still a bitch,dont care about it,if you can make she wet,do it as you wish.
and this is a beta crack,do not use it in any serious enviroment.i'm duty free from any loss you may suffer from using this release.

Aldec Riviera's most commands are like modelsim's and Questa's but Questa is more complete than Riviera specially in C/C++ (of course SystemC) area. Riviera's GUI is the best among its competitors (Cadence, Synopsys and Mentor) and is so stable (don't hang like Questa).

两个怎么比呢？
前者是做Functional Verification的
后者是做Simulation。
Verification是Simulation的关系就是这两者的关系。
我的理解是：
Verification就是确认逻辑设计是否满足达到预先的设计要求。
验证有很多中方法了，可以通过Simulation(软件模拟)，通过Emulation(真实硬件模拟)，还有就是FormalVerification(数学方法)，所以可以说验证是仿真的超集。
两者功能有部分重合，你可以用active-hdl写代码，仿真，做代码覆盖分析，但是没有Riviera-Pro提供的UVM/OVM, VMM，SVA, PSL and OVA等验证方法学的支持.

Digital field is composed of designing and verifications. Non of the markets leading tools are helping you to learn how to design and just satisfy your verifications' needs. So I suggest you to be expert in only one of them.

I personally think that Questa's platform is the best and most complete among the others and can be easily integrated with other tools from Mentor Company especially Vista.

Once again note that non of these tools never teaches you hardware designing and is only for the levels that you have VHDL or Verilog code..........

Aldec's Active HDL and Riviera have both the same commands and most of them are also the same like Modelsim and Questa. The reason why people love Active-HDL is because of its provided flow for controlling the third party's tools from Xilinx, etc.

Riviera is faster than Active-HDL in compiling and simulating. Active-HDL has schematic related facilities like FSM and Schematic editing and converting them back to HDL. All of the things you face with in Riviera is the text and you will not see anything for creating schematic and it's one of the reasons of being faster.

Riviera as jorison said has advanced features for verifications but believe me, they are so complex. For more info refer to:

modelsim和questsim都不能做开发IDE，active-HDL可以，楼上的英文也有解释。
