Broadcom offers a family of WCDMA(Wideband Code Division Multiple-Access), EDGE (Enhanced Data Rates for GSMEvolution), GPRS (General Packet Radio Services), GSM (Global System for MobileCommunication), and LTE (Long-term Evolution) products for use in cellularphones, cellular modem cards and wireless PDAs. As wireless devices includinghandsets, data-cards and smart-phones, emerge as the dominant platform formobile media convergence they are driving the need for higher data rates.Broadcom is developing solutions supporting the next generation of high-speedmobile technologies with a product roadmap that includes base-band processorsfor WCDMA, HSDPA/HSUPA, HSPA+, LTE and TD-SCDMA , as well as a portfolio ofmobile multimedia co-processors. Broadcom will help to build a new generationof mobile devices supporting new applications such as video telephony andmessaging, graphics-rich sports and news clips, interactive gaming,location-based services and improved web browsing.

We are hiring an experiencedhands-on engineering manager to build and lead a sizable team to integrate anddevelop TD-SCDMA solution for Broadcom’s cellular baseband platform. In thisrole, you will

- Help recruit and build a teamof 40+ engineers.

- Lead and manage the team onTD-SCDMA protocol stack (L3/L2/L1) integration, development, verification andcommercialization.

- Responsible for deliveringmature and high performing TD-SCDMA protocol stack, developing TD-SCDMA and 2G/LTE inter-rat functionalities, andintegrating TD-SCDMA with Broadcom multi-mode modem platform.

- Work with 3rd party IP vendorto internalize and integrate software IPs.

- Plan project schedule; definerequirement, work items and deliverables; and more importantly execute the planaccording to the schedule.

- Collaborate with other system,software and hardware teams at multiple-sites to drive platform integration andresolve system level issues.

Job Requirements - BS and 12+years relevant experience or MS and 10+ years relevant experience

- 3+ years engineering managementand leadership experience with demonstrated achievements and increasedresponsibility

- Solid hands-on developmentexperience in cellular modem protocol stack (L1/L2/L3) development,particularly in TD-SCDMA

- Proficient in CCSA and 3GPPTD-SCDMA standards, conformance tests, and test equipment

- Good understanding of embeddedsystem, real-time OS, development and debugging tools

- Proficient in C

- Dedicated and results driven

- May require travel domesticallyand internationally
