I have been using PIC for years, somehow compared to the other manufacturer, PIC is a bit more user friendly and have larger follower base.
This enable beginners to easily learn new things to do with the chips.
However, recent developments of new chips seems to flood the microchip line up, and made it difficult to select chip to be used in your project.
As opposed to the TI lineup such as MSP430 family that only have a few to select, it is easier to make up your mind.
I think chip selection is like learning to drive a car. The Automatic is easy, but the manual transmission gives you more control. |
