PLX device is very old stuff and very expensive. in USA we are phase out these design. seldom people use those any more. FPGA based PCI core is very cheap and easy.
for example PCI target only consumes <10% ACE1k50 resources. it is cheaper than PLX device. also it can provide logic for other design logic.
My advicer is don't try PLX. study FPGA PCI!!!!!!!!

我就是用FPGA来做PCI卡的。通过PCI总线来读写IO口。
我感觉用FPGA来实现也挺好的，可以把外部逻辑集成到FPGA里去。
而且第一次开发成功后，以后要再开发起来也比较容易了。
