Depends on your accuracy requirement and cost budget. It is easier to achieve good accuracy by a resistor divider (if you have a voltage reference higher than the desired voltage, aka 12.5V), if you use a reference voltage lower than the desired voltage, you will need to gain up with an opamp, which will include both the error introduced by the resistor divider and the offset of the Opamp. Theoretically, you can do this in other ways such as a switching capacitor circuit, but SC circuits are usually used in the IC design level. |
