You can use Matlab(simulink or M-file), but some ppl may be not familiar with Matlab or system level modeling.
Now, I will tell you as long as you know how to draw schematic in Cadence, you can easily build a PLL system level model and simulate with Spectre.
All you need:
(1) VCVS, VCCS
(2) Vpulse,
(3) R,C
Using this model, you can run AC, transient and noise analysis etc. And it is at least 100X faster than real circuit simulations.
Moreover, this model is very easy to build, modify to fit all kinds of PLL, liks SSPLL, FNPLL etc.
The essential concept for my method is using phase domain to build the schematic. You will find it is very interesting and amazing it works so fine.Unbelievable but it really works! |
