关于EDA所需OS版本的讨论

闲来无事讨论一下，现在如果添置新服务器或者重装系统的话，大家优先哪个版本的系统？

以RHEL为例，6.9已经越来越跟不上步伐了，新版本的spectre之类的都不支持6.9了，肯定不会装了。
7.9一直在用，传统工艺下一直用的还顺利，大的跨国半导体公司也不少采用这个版本。
8.10是8的仅存一个还在支持的版本，试用了一段时间，没发现大问题，当然用的EDA工具不是很全面。
9和10...还没试。

eda公司都会明确哪些版本支持哪些系统。按照可能用到的版本安装就好了？

From version 2024 and 2025, the Synopsys' and Siemens' tools only support RHEL >= 8. So, I recommend that you should install RHEL8 or RHEL 9 OS system.

Some tools from the 2023 version don't support version 9, unless you compile libc.so.6 yourself (which I failed to do).
After switching to version 8, everything went smoothly.

C的兼容性还是可以的，S说支持7系统， 2023的有一些软件需要更高一点glib。

可以看下synopsys和cadence公司官网对于操作系统平台支持的说明

有时候挺无语的，在win下基本不存在问题的兼容性，到了linux下这么麻烦，记得rh7.3->rh9折腾过一次，rhel 4->rhel 5折腾过一次，rhel8换9又换出一堆问题。
