The difference between node-locked and floating license There are two basic types of license types: nodelocked and floating. These license types define whether one or more users may use the specific software application at a time. Nodelocked License
A node-locked license is an encrypted "key" that is locked to a specific machine or dongle. The license is uncounted, meaning that there can be an unlimited number of simultaneous runs (by any one user) on the single machine.
Floating License
A network floating license allows a user to use a license from any machine that can access the identified license server. An encrypted "key" is locked to a license server host that runs the FLEX license server daemon. The license is "counted," meaning that the FLEX license manager keeps track of the number of "seats" hosted by that server. |
