Job description

Wireless Modem Systems Research and Standardization is seeking for systems research and standardization experts whose main focus is on L1 and/or L2/L3 system design, analysis, implementation and standardization for advanced wireless systems.

Exact role will depend on one hand on your skills and experience, and on the other hand needs of the systems research projects/programs. Focus will be on evolution of wireless access systems, including solutions for new wireless application areas. Participation to actual standardization and related external meetings may be part of the work.

You should have a M.Sc. or higher degree preferably from the field of telecommunications but also other fields like computer science or electronics could do. Previous work experience on telecommunications research or standardization is favored. Following list of experience, know-how and skills characterize requirements for various possible roles, yet not all of them are required for any particular position:

Systems engineering, HW implementation and architecture design of advanced wireless systems

·
Design and programming of radio link level simulation tools (Matlab, CCSS, and/or c-language based tools, etc.)

·
Understanding of the mathematics of system behavior and how to apply mathematical analysis to practical issues in system development

·
Air interface L1 and radio resource management solutions of advanced wireless networks

·
Design of protocols for key radio access protocols and/or core network protocols of cellular and non-cellular technologies

·
Concept work experience is considered as an advantage in particular for IEEE802.11/15/16

·
Experience in developing UE requirements for HSPA and LTE and related system research and standardisation activities

·
Good organizational, project and people management skills

Qualifications Requirements

You should have a M.Sc. or higher degree preferably from the field of telecommunications but also other fields like computer science or signal processing or electronics could do. Previous work experience on telecommunications research or standardization is favored.

Typically 6-9 years relevant experience. Broad expertise is preferred, especially either on the HSPA, LTE, WLAN, Wimax, Cognitive Radio, Wireless Sensor Networks, Adhoc/Mesh network areas.
