The individual in this position is primarily focusing on the SoC based Android solutions. He/She will take responsibilities for porting the native Android systems onto SoCs, developing related features on Android SDKs, customizing Android SDKs per customer requirements, and delivering the mature Android solutions to customers as “tune-key” solutions. Working closely with the platform software team and the third-party solution vendors, such as IDH, the individual in this position will take responsibilities for communicating the software requirements with those teams to make sure that the Android solutions run smoothly and efficiently on SoCs and meet the customer requirements for mass production. Working closely with other team members, the individual in this position will also take responsibility for supporting the issues reported from the customer Android projects.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As the member of the team developing Android solutions based on SoCs and supporting customer projects which adopt SoCs, the individual in this position will be responsible for:
- Developing and maintaining Android SDKs, including:
o Analysing the software requirements from marketing
o Porting new native Android versions to SoCs
o Developing Android SDKs
o Customizing Android solutions for products
- Developing Android system software, including:
o Analysing the software requirements from customers
o Designing software architecture
o Implementing and reviewing codes
o Doing functionality tests
o Optimizing system performance
o Writing technical documents
- Supporting customer Android projects on Android software development
- Working with other team members on Android tune-key solution for customers

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor (BS) degree or above in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar discipline.
Master (MS) degree is preferred.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

Minimum 5-years experience on system software development which includes minimum 3-years experience of Android system porting and Android frameworks development on Android devices. Experience in the system software design and implementation on Google TV or Android-based Digital TVs or Set-top Boxes is highly values.

KEY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABBILITIES REQUIRED

- Proficient in the programming languages, including C, C++, and JAVA;
- Master of Linux kernel debugging and Linux kernel driver programming;
- Master of Android system porting, Android related Linux kernel porting, and Android HAL drivers developing;
- Master of Android Developer Tools for implementing and debugging Android applications.
- Familiar with Android source codes, Android Application frameworks, and Android APK development;
- Good knowledge of network programming with socket and HTTP;
- Good knowledge of media frameworks, such as stagefright, gstreamer, ffmpeg.
- Good written and oral communication skills in English;
- Good team work;
