Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead a one or multiple hardware development projects
- Influence technical direction of the hardware development
- Review functional specifications and board designs
- Collaborate with a global design team and provide regular project status
- Interface with Joint Design Manufacture (JDM) on the development of disk sub-system development projects
- Interface with external component vendors and technology partners
- Conduct design reviews and develop or review test plans
- Generation and review of specifications and design proposals
- Coordinate lab bring-up and testing of prototype designs
- Testing of hardware using both commercial and internally developed software tools and applications
Skills
- 5 to 8 years of experience in the design, debug, and qualification of hardware systems
- Direct experience with SAS/SATA disk array enclosures or technologies
- Experience is high-speed signal design
- Experience with high-bandwidth memory devices and standards
- Excellent communication, technical and leadership skills
- Ability to influence others, both internally and globally
- Ability to form and lead cross-functional teams
- Strong sense of urgency and teamwork
- Strong lab skills and experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and circuit emulators
- Ability to work well both alone or in small teams
- Prior experience with project management tools and methodology is helpful
- Prior experience in directing individuals or small teams is a plus
- Knowledge of server and storage systems, particularly RAID systems, is a plus
- Experience with IA-32 architectures and various I/O protocols, such as Fibre Channel and Gigabit Ethernet is a plus
- Knowledge of Analog Design, PCB Layout and Signal Integrity skills is a plus
Education Required: BSEE is a must, MSEE is a plus
Experience Required: 5-8 years direct design experience in high-performance system and/or disk sub-system design |
