具体就是对系统运行环境的支持不同
ixl是最早从RHEL 5开始支持的
但是不意味着之支持RHEL CentOs 5
根据calibre官方文件显示

部分ixl是可以运行在6乃至7系统中的

总体来说
IXL 是为 RHEL/CentOS 5或者 SLES 11 SP1 以及基于SSE3指令集（2004年以后）的系统环境设计的
AOI 为RHEL/CentOS 6|RHEL/CentOS 7 或者 SLES 11 SP4|SLES 12 SP5 以及2004年以后的intel cpu 平台设计AOJ 支援到RHEL/CentOS 6.8/9/10|RHEL/CentOS 7 或者SLES 11 SP4|SLES 12 SP5 以及基于AVX2指令集（2013年以后）的系统环境
AOK 只支持RHEL8

目前网上可以找到主要为AOI和AOJ版本，可以简单理解6.8以前版本的RHEL/CentOs最好使用AOI
即使IXL也是可以运行在VM模拟环境下在CentOS7
除非PDK有特殊要求一般情况只需要在CentOs7下搭建，并安装任何一款你可以找到calibre即可

Small addition:
The AOJ version is fully functional on RHEL8/CentOS8 after a small fix to the file "calibre_vco". With a high degree of probability, the same is true for AOI/IXL.
