NI LabVIEW 2009 v9.0 Control Design and Simulation Module

Withthe NI LabVIEW Control Design and Simulation Module, you can analyzeopen-loop model behavior, design closed-loop controllers, simulateonline and offline systems, and conduct physical implementations.
Createmodels from first principles using transfer function, state-space, orzero-pole-gain representation. With time and frequency analysis tools,such as time step response or Bode plot, you can interactively analyzeopen- and closed-loop behavior. Use built-in tools for both multipleinput, multiple output (MIMO) and single input, single output (SISO)systems and take advantage of simulation capabilities to verify linearand nonlinear system dynamics. You can also use built-in tools toconvert your models developed in The MathWorks, Inc. SimulinkÂ®software to work with LabVIEW.

In addition, you can expandLabVIEW Control Design and Simulation usability with other NI softwaretools. For example, you can use the LabVIEW System IdentificationToolkit to find empirical models from real plant stimulus-responseinformation and the LabVIEW Statechart Module for event-based controldesign or event-driven simulation. You can deploy dynamic systems toreal-time hardware targets with the LabVIEW Real-Time Module for rapidcontrol prototyping and hardware-in-the-loop applications.

TheNI LabVIEW Desktop Execution Trace Toolkit helps you trace theexecution of LabVIEW VIs on a Windows target during run time to detectand locate problems in code that could affect performance or causeunexpected behavior. It provides a chronological view of VI events,queue operations, reference leaks, memory allocation, unhandled errors,and subVI execution. With this toolkit, you can programmaticallygenerate user-defined events from the block diagram of a LabVIEWapplication.

In addition, you can use this toolkit to parse thetrace data with custom filters or export the data to a spreadsheet fordocumentation. By highlighting individual events, you can obtainadditional information such as the call chain and cpu number. You alsocan double-click traced events to highlight the corresponding object onthe block diagram.

Dynamic code analysis is an importantpractice for demonstrating correct behavior and debugging complexsoftware. You can configure the LabVIEW Desktop Execution Trace Toolkitto monitor execution of VIs on a local machine or remotely over anetwork. In addition to VIs in the development environment, you can usethe toolkit to profile debuggable executables and shared libraries.
